A Little Bit About Myself

I have an extensive background in psychology, initially studying it at degree level and more recently at master's degree level. In addition to this, I also have over 17 years experience in the education sector managing psychology departments whilst also lecturing at several universities and coaching internally. I now deliver training and education programs on positive psychology and coaching psychology, alongside 1-2-1 and group coaching packages. This allows me to use all of my expertise and experience into getting great results.

My Mission & Approach

I believe in today's fast paced and demanding world, there is a huge need for businesses and individuals to learn and develop a wide range of resilience skills and healthy coping behaviours that they can turn to when the pressure is on. It is my mission to educate others on how to actively manage the more challenging times in a more positive and productive way whilst staying connected to their goals, strengths and personal values. This helps to avoid burnout and chronic stress whilst increasing happiness and success.

Professional Background

Experience

I have extensive experience in the education sector managing Psychology departments alongside developing and delivering high quality courses. I have also lectured on Psychology at two Universities and have over 10 years and 500 hours of coaching experience.

I have a wide range of qualifications, indicative of my love of learning. I am passionate about ensuring I keep my skills and knowledge up to date to ensure I can continue to be a highly skilled, certified and qualified coach. Below is a summary of my Education so far:

Life Experience

My Own Journey To Self Discovery

I have a personal reason for wanting to help others live a successful, well-balanced and fulfilling life. In 2017 I was working 50+ hours a week, including evenings and weekends and was teetering on the edge of burnout. I knew I could no longer sustain the poor work life balance, high stress levels and low physical and mental wellbeing that I was experiencing and had to take serious action. 

I knew I needed to create a happier, healthier and more balanced life for myself, where I could still work and be successful but where I could manage stress more effectively, improve my wellbeing and have more time to do things I love, such a hiking and being out in nature. 

As a result, I made a radical decision to leave my teaching position and move to south Spain where I enrolled in master’s degree in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology (MAPPCP). This allowed me to deep dive into the research and science behind coaching and well-being in order to deepen my knowledge and learn a huge amount of new strategies and skills I was able to use to improve my own life. For my dissertation I specialised in the effectiveness of resilience training programs for people working through the pressures and stress associated with the pandemic. It is here I saw the power of positive psychology and in particular, resilience training. I knew I needed to share my new found knowledge and help others to improve their lives and wellbeing whilst also being able to achieve their goals and dreams. The fire in my belly was lit!

I now work freelance as a coach and a trainer, delivering coaching programs, resilience training and wellbeing programs, whilst also working with one to one clients. Building resilience and dramatically improving a persons wellbeing enables them to be more successful than they have ever been before and my clients often achieve goals they felt were previously out of their reach. I find this work hugely fulfilling and am able to have flexible work that allows me to spend more time in nature, doing the things I love. My life has completely transformed for the better and now I’m passionate about helping others to do the same.
